This page aims to provide access to information about the impact that ICT has had on education.

The main focus is on investment in ICT at the school level, but a limited amount of data is also available for other phases of education.

As a starting point I have wrote the first draft of a summary paper called Impact of ICT on Education. This informed the introduction to my thesis, which provides a summary of the impact (or lack of it) of ICT on education - see Chapter 1 of Twining (2002).

The main conclusion drawn in this paper is that ICT has not had as great an impact on education as one might have expected given the huge amount of money invested and the hype surrounding it. At best ICT's impact has been patchy.
